This weekend we celebrated my niece Nathalie’s 4th Birthday. The theme of her party was based on the movie Tangled, a fun Disney movie based on the classic Rapunzel story. My sister, Jennifer, is quite the creative DIY-er herself and below are some photos of the fun party she threw & some ideas for your next kid’s party!
The photo on the left was the inspiration for the party and the photo on the right is what she created as party ‘favors.’ She created these with braided yellow yarn, hot gluing gems and flowers and lastly, attaching ribbon around them. Below are the other great DIY ideas she made for the party.

‘Tangled’ Mini-Castle Decor for Candy Bar…
My sister used toilet paper rolls, painted them, attached foam paper on top and cut them to make these super cute mini-castles.
Tangled Birthday Cake:
My sister will usually make a cake, but because she did all the other items, she found a local baker on Facebook instead. There is a group on her Facebook page that sells local, homemade food and drinks and she can contact anyone in her area to get most things made with the exception of alcoholic beverages. Look up your own area to see if something like this exists! It’s a great way to support your community!
Lastly, Home Decor:
Turn your home into Rapunzel’s castle & fantasyland 🙂
My sister made this castle when decorating her work for Christmas. She actually made the Disney castle for her Disney-Themed holiday decor contest at work and of course, won. So, for the birthday party, she repainted the castle with purple and pink and added the banners and Rapunzel’s hair coming out of one of the windows. She made the castle out of cardboard & paint and the hair is 3 tablecloths braided together 🙂
All throughout the house she covered windows with colorful table cloths and transformed the home into the inside of a castle.
She also used these FREE print outs to really tie all the decor together…
We had a great time at the party and Dahlia still wont take off her new headband 😉
Have a great week everyone!
