Make it Monday: Quick Craft for Kids – DIY Night Light

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you’ve all braved the crazy weather this weekend. You can tell Winter is definitely in full swing because this stormy weather is no joke!

On a recent trip to the library, we celebrated Winter’s arrival by making super cute and easy-to-do night lights. And with the sun going down sooner and it getting dark faster, you may want to have this extra light source in case the storm gets you and the power goes out. This is also perfect for any kids room and a perfect rainy project as well.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Mason Jar(s)
  • Decoupage paste (Mod Podge works great)
  • Paint Brush
  • Tissue Paper (various colors)
  • Flameless Tealight
  • Scissors

Here’s what to do:

  • First, cover area in paper or newspaper to protect table. Then, start cutting pieces of tissue paper and decide if you want to do a pattern or free-form.

  • Next, grab a paintbrush and start gluing down your pieces with the Mod Podge paste.

  • Once you’ve glued all your pieces down, be sure to let it dry.

  • The last step is plopping the tealight inside the mason jar and voila!

The night light is actually really pretty at night and I don’t mind it on my night stand either. Enjoy!
