Wellness Wednesday:  8 Fun Indoor Playgrounds for Kids (& Adults) in the Bay Area

Last week’s El Nino weather was crazy I tell ya!  So, we headed indoors to get Dahlia movin’.  Here’s 8 awesome indoor playgrounds in the Bay Area, most of which we have been to.

Don’t see your favorite?  Let me know in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out!

1.  Hop n’ Play | San Bruno, CA (Located within the Tanforan Mall)

We love Hop n’ Play because it’s close to home, it’s inexpensive ($10/all day) and they have a lot of play structures.  What more could a parent want right?!  Dahlia loves it here and we love that they have a frequent user pass & Friday Parent Date Night options as well!  Lastly, they offer free admission to those babies who cannot walk yet which is awesome that they let babies develop those gross motor skills!  SCORE!

(Also, there is a quite a big FREE play area in front of Tanforan kids can play in if you’re short on cash)

Enjoy some photos of Dahlia and please excuse the stains on her shirt and her hairdo!

2.  Peekadoodle Kids Club | SF, CA

Located within the famous Ghiradelli Square in San Francisco, Peekadoodle Kidsclub is a space that takes on the theme of San Francisco very well.  Cable Cars, the Golden Gate Bridge and a Victorian home are just some of the things you’ll see here.  There is a monthly membership fee for the club but sign up on their interest list and you get a guest pass (for first time users) valued at $50!

Here is Dahlia and her friend, Avery, on the “Cable Car” at Peekadoodle at their friend CJ’s Birthday Party.

3.  Diddalidoo | San Bruno, Ca

Another play place located in San Bruno, only this one is specifically for the younger ones age 0-4.  We love Diddalidoo for the main fact that Dahlia feels she’s at home with people her age and not intimidated by other big kids.  Not only does Diddalidoo offer a big play structure, interactive soft mat area and toy area, but they also offer a cafe area as well as nursing room for Mothers.  Day passes are $8 for weekday and $10 for weekend and Holidays. You could also buy multiple passes for a discounted rate.

Here are some photos of Dahlia that I also used in a previous post of Diddalidoo.

4.  Peek-a-Boo Factory | SF, CA

Located in an old bank building, Peek-A-Boo Factory now offers a colorful and vibrant place for kids up to age 10 to hang out.  We came here this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised that this place was open to the public (for $10/daily fee) instead of just being closed for a private event.  There were 2 birthdays going on, but it was nice we were still able to come and play!  Also, we were able to bring in food and snacks from the outside and stayed until closing on Saturday which is 6pm (pretty late for one of these places on the weekend).

 5.  House of Air |  SF, CA

Located in a warehouse of San Francisco’s Presidio, House of Air is a building full of trampolines for all to enjoy.  Kids ages 3 and up can enjoy this fun place that cost $18/day or you can buy multiple sessions as well.  I came here with some co-workers a couple of years back for a teambuilding event and we couldn’t get over how fun their dodgeball court is!

6.  Studio Grow | Berkeley & Blackhawk, CA

We actually came here when Dahlia was a few months old for a friend’s birthday party.  They have a lot of wooden structures for kids ages 0-6 years old.  A very light and airy place and perfect for an afternoon of play!  Studio Grow has many different classes available for the price of a drop in and no membership is required!

Here are some photos of Dahlia’s friend, Zoey’s 1st Birthday that we celebrated at Studio Grow in Alameda which has since, closed down, but you should check out the other 2 locations!

7.  La Petite Playhouse | Redwood City, CA

Though we’ve never been here, we’ve heard good things about it because Dahlia does swim classes at La Petite Baleen, their sister company.  This  underwater themed playground has everything a kid would want and more!  It’s also a great place to have a birthday party because they offer 10,000 sq. ft. of play!  Drop in rates are $10 which again, is a steal!

8.  Safari Run | San Mateo & Sunnyvale, Ca

We haven’t been here either but when we were residents of San Mateo, we’d pass by here all the time.  Open play times are recommended for kids ages 3-10, so we’ll definitely check it out when Dahlia’s a bit older, but we love the Safari theme of this place!  It’s also a perfect place to consider for birthday parties.

I’m sure there’s tons more indoor playgrounds across the Bay Area and we definitely are willing to try!

Happy Playing!
